Hi Folks, I just put a 5L V8 from a VQ statesman in my boat but the dipstick was lost (and I don't know how much oil is currently in the sump). I picked up a v6 dipstick but who knows where the marks on that are. Is there a kind V8 owner who might tell me the length of the dipstick to the hi/low mark? (would save me having to drain all the oil and re-fill: a difficult job in the boat) Thanks in advance, Rob

From base of rubber seal- 467mm- total length 452mm- low mark 433mm- high mark I think the v6 dip stick is longer, you maybe able to cut it down and scribe the marks. If its in a boat is the motor on an lean?

Thanks heaps Crowe. You saved me the unpleasant job of emptying the sump into the bottom of the boat. I'll assume the length is from where the seal meets the top of the pipe. I haven't yet had the boat in the water, and it may have a different rest an
