2001 F-250 Super-Duty 7.3 diesel 6-speed stick 4X4. Thinking about switching transmission to an automatic. How expensive, how difficult? What about rear axle ratio, transmission cooler, etc.? Thanks Ed

Did they come out with an automatic option?
If so, probably the cheapest way will be to buy everything you need for the conversion from a wreck.
There are also some specialist F-series truck forums on the web and the guys on those may be able to off
