Hi all,new to the site and new to HZ panel vans, which I recently bought as a tow car, great car but are all the 2sp heaters in these things as weak as what I'm finding, now winter is catching up?

The core could be blocked, or it may be running a low temp thermostat in the engine causing the engine water to be flowing at incorrect speeds. Could also be that the heater doors are not working too well or the air intake is clogged with leaves or other |

My HQ heater fan isn't particularly strong, either, especially compared to the Torana, which does pump out at a fair volume. I've had it all out recently and it all seems to be fine. Rebuilt heater core, no ducts blocked. Perhaps my heater doors aren't

the heater housing is a prime place for leaves and all sorts of stuff to get stuck in there..when I got my HZ you would be driving along and then hear some strange noise and whoshca, out would fly a heap of finely chopped twigs and leaves onto the poor un

I also remember when my dad had a WB van and a HZ tonner at our pet shop. The van heater had to work a lot harder as the heat went stright up and into the back. |

Did replace the thermst with the next higher than standard, blow the garden hose through the heater hose, even though alot of people say this is bad? Fan is fine and the heater puts out plenty of heat in the finer months when you never need it but now at

Definitely. Try plumbing the LPG converter separately. Not sure how exactly, but ask an LPG conversion shop. |

another thing that can help a bit with vans, I have a WB van I got hold of some insulation from work that goes between the roof and roof lining from new VZ Holdens when the sunroofs were fitted I put this on the roof in the back , its about 2inch thick so

You could try having the LPG converter plumbed to the return side of the heater so the heater has first dibs on the hot stuff, then off the the converter???

The problem with that idea is that when the heater is turned off no water goes through the gas convertoer and the system freezes up.

Big improvement,got rid of the T piece and now run direct thermo to heater, had to remove temp switch & replace with outlet to LPG convert ( not a problem as i run mech temp guage from head)Did clean some rust scale out of lines.
Still might keep the b
