Hello everyone :-), I would like to know what i should do here in regards to fitting a Column shift auto to what was a 3 on the tree column, and also what linkages can i use for running a chev with either a glide or a th 350 / 400....do i have to get the specific ones for the box i choose, eg turbo 350 ( linkages from Monaro, or were they just t bars? ) or glide ( just any old HKTG linkages from your typical sedan? The cheaper option would be good for me as i am on a tight budget..Please help as i havent got a clue lol, im just a newbie...so ant info would be great ! Thanks a lot , Cheers Anthony

Powerglides came out standard behind a 307 with a column shift in HK and early HT. Simply find a V8 auto column shift example and get the column and linkages. The box is shifted with a crossover mechanism under the box. Has to be a V8 setup though as the Edited by user Saturday, 22 April 2006 10:59:37 PM(UTC)

If you play around with it a little you may even be able to adapt the powerglide mechanism to a TH350 using a column shift trimatic column out of a HT or HG. |

If your going to have a bit of fun and do a bit of thrashing, I'd go for a B&M shifter. 1. It has a reverse lockout.(Old column shifts easily go past D and into N or R when your shifting manually)Gets really interesting if you get reverse!!! 2. Cable sh

PS. I've got an old HQ T bar shifter somewhere to suit a TH400. You can have it for a carton of beer if you want. Plus postage.
