Don't buy plates!

They're only used to rebirth stolen cars.

Just rememeber, those plates might be used to steal your pride and joy one day!

mate if that was my plan i wood be selling a whole coupe in great nick but i just have a extra set of plates i dont need thought some one who had only a six cyl might want to up grade to a true v8 coupe with no need for modifation plates and to incress th

When you mean plates do you mean GT? If not what is the plates from, ie details. Cheers

Mate, it's highly illegal to use compliance plates from one coupe, or car onto another. As previously stated, thats rebirthing. I wouldn't even try to suggest that someone do that. Most of these forums are generally monitored by the authorities so watch

heads. It's a potential prison term with a large friendly fella named Bendover. The
compliance plates are only worth as much as beer coasters. It's just not wort

how come no one seems to worry about rebodyed gt's ?there on ebay all the time and always find a buyer?in fact a gtho was awarded top gtho a few times in the 90's and was only recently found to be a rebody but that phase 3 is still around,why?

I think you will find that the GT clubs etc have registers of written off cars, plates that appear on ebay etc. They are very proactive on stopping rebirthing and providing a data base to help those looking at buying GT's, or have had them stolen etc.

yes they have a data base but there are still rebodied gts for sale on ebay and they go untouched,sure there recorded but still no one seems to care about them and they still get sold reguarly with people knowing they have been rebodied.not that i care bu

what do you think,should the phase 3 gtho's that have been rebodied and are in gt clubs be crushed and the owners be charged?

Back in the early GT era, you could buy a H code body for replacing a smashed GT, as GT bodies were different to the standard bodies. These came with full certification and could legitmately be used. As for the rest, there are no rebodied GT's recognise

ago people got away with it. Now days, if you get caught, and in the words of the late Steve

as for gt bodys being sold by fomoco for people to rebody written off cars thats rubbish.and whats the difference if someone rebodied a car in the 70's or today???why should they have got away with it years ago but you say now its harsh penalties today???
