I bought my HT GTS a while back with the bigger HQ brakes up front and the standard HT brakes at rear. The problem now is i have to carry 2 spare wheels. Is there any rim on the market that has both stud patterns so i can use it as a spare? If not what is my best option (ie. do i put the original HT disk brakes back)? There are other people who have the bigger HQ brakes on their HK-HT GTS. What do they do in this situation?

Redrill the rear axles for HQ and then fit HQ drums and backing plates etc. Use the same size wheel cylinders and everything will be OK.

The front discs can be made with any stud pattern you want also. So early stud pattern on HQ discs is fine from an engineering point of view |

Do what Warren suggests, but don't bother changing the backing plates as the drums are the same except for the stud pattern. Other option as Peter says is order HQ discs from DBA with HT pattern on them. |

We dont you get extra holes put into your spare in the same way that 12 slotters are multi fit for Ford and Holden stud patterns, ie 10 mounting holes. James PS added 7/5. I wouldn't simply drill extra holes but have them stamped out to match the ex Edited by user Sunday, 7 May 2006 11:33:10 PM(UTC)

You only have to be in front at the end of the race. |

Hi there.. I'd go with the rim idea, If its a steel rim redrill another ser of holes. If alloy get the existing holea milled to the other stud pattern. Its safe, quick, easy and cheap...

How often do you get a flat? keep a can of tyre inflater in the boot and keep good tyres on your car. Save a lot of money!

Tyre inflater is ok if you spend all your time close to home but if you have a valve problem or hit a rock and bend the rim tyre inflater is not much good. The trailer people can supply a blank hub and drill it to any pattern you want for about $30. (not s
