G'day all,
Just wondering if rebuilding the steering box is something that is within the scope of the home mechanic like me or are there special tools/knowledge needed that require it to be taken to a steering mechanic? Any advice appreciated.Cheers.Russ.

Hi Russ.

It is way beyond the scope of even most fully qualified mechanics to overhaul a Bendix-Bishop power steering box, especially the spool valve section. Even if they had the knowhow, by the time you buy the parts, not just a seal kit, but teflons
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Thanks for replying Terry, I dont need one right now, but will in the future and I will post you in here when I need it, I actually asked because I have one sitting in my garage that I was thinking of rebuilding as a spare if it was feasible.But it looks
