do you have a/c? if no you can go to a direct drive fan or 2 x 12" electrics which will gain you about 10 hp and improve economy. city driver will need fan. hyway cruiser no fan required. put thermostat on elect fans and set at around 80 deg the noise ma

EL or AU Falcon thermo's are good...
As Rocket said, are you sure it is the fan and not the belt? Check the tension on and condition of the belt and the alignment of your pulleys before you spend any money.
Clutch fans are the second best ones (IMHO

I put a VN V6 thermofan on the back of a HZ 308 radiator a few years back.
It was a high-comp 308 on straight gas, and the VN fan worked a treat.
We had to seal the shroud up to the core well, and offset it slightly so the back of the motor housing |

Just to further that tip on the V6 fan Mick, have you noticed how easy it is to run the complete commy radiator and fan setup (as one complete unit) We fitted the whole unit to a HX. Just needs 2 angle iron brackets bolted/welded to the bottom of the rad

I'm currently planning a conversion in my HZ from the original radiator to a WB one. Using a WB support as a template, I need to widen the hole in the HZ radiator support, and weld or tek screw on the WB radiator brackets. Looks pretty easy, apart from so |

That's a good option for the later radiator (more easily availabe & a lot cheaper), however the VN V6 thermofan is mounted centrally, and would foul the water pump pulley if fitted up that way.
You probably wouldn't want to use the V6 rad anyway, as it |

Our's was installed with the V6 to overcome the need to cut and shut the standard HX rad etc, V8 was gone before we fitted it (oops) Mick does the standard setup in a normal VN also do this corrosion affect? anyway around it such as putting an earth stra

The corrosion issue is present in the V6 commodores. An earth strap helps, but running the correct grade of coolant is even more critical.
The difficult part is getting a good bite on the core for an earth strap.
If you grab a multi-meter, set it t |
