Hi. Since replacing the brake pads a few months ago there has been a lot of shudder when they heat up. I am going to replace the pads to see if this fixes it. Anyone have brand suggestions as to a good mid-price pad? It is mainly for town driving, with some country also. The last pads were cheapies.
Thanks
Cooper

Yeah, I had heard that the discs are prone to problems - however, may try some factory pads ... I guess they are only sold through the Holden Dealer .... $$$ ??

I agree with Cloudy about the genuine pads. There is a reason why the cheapies are cheap. Cheapies can also suddenly become very expensive when you have to replace them soon after fitting them.

Before you do anything get someone to check y

I have to agree With the Machining of the discs cos it sounds like you've got runout.. I've done quite a few vs to vz commodores of late and it's a common problem.Being a vt i would recommend measuring the rotors to make sure they are not under the minimu

Calipers have issues that cast the disc to vibrate
Disc gets the blame but isn't the cause
Also check caster rod bushes. They are fluid filled and "bleed"
Usual trick is replace discs, pads, overhaul calipers and change caster bushes (Noltec do a nice ur

Bendix advance pads for you. out gasing builds up on rotor. sit on 110 k or so and hit the brake hard as you can 3 or 4 times. no more problem.
