tried to get some sense out of the blue corner, but you know, anyway......... heard there is a dummy wire to the back of the radio for smartlock? ive got a 97 falcon outback but want to change the radio (put in a cd unit) is this gonna be possible or will the car cease to continue if i do?

Dealer may be your best bet, or a car-radio joint that does installations could be helpful.

yeah spose so. shame to go to all that trouble for such a simple job though. but ya get that in the big jobs ay! should just put a 350 in and listen to the real music instead ay

May be different systems but I know of a 95 Outback and an EF wagon with home isntalled aftermarket CD players and they had no problems, just utilised the +12, ACC, and speaker wiring from the existing harness.
