Wondering if anybody can help
Have an L31 on the go and have been trying to find any info on the aluminium blocked 427 and are finding it difficult -- from what i hear it was a stroked 350 block??
Are there any stroker kits available or does anyone know of any mob that is building these things -- not interested in the fuel injection etc but wish to build a nat aspirated
Cheers

IIRC it was based on the genIII but the block is longer to get the bore spacing, hence the crank and heads are unique too.

You can buy genuine GM retro ZL-1 blocks now. These are a replica 1967/8 alloy 427 as fitted to Bob Jane's two ZL-1 Camaros. One of these fitted with alloy heads may be a better prospect. Will fit straight into a HQ-WB using normal big block stuff.

Search on the US websites. Summit may be a good place to start. Even the genuine US GM site. Look in google.

Here are a couple to try,

www.sallee-chevrolet.com
www.classicindustries.com

I could only imagine the actual shipping costs.
