Wondering if anybody can help Have an L31 on the go and have been trying to find any info on the aluminium blocked 427 and are finding it difficult -- from what i hear it was a stroked 350 block?? Are there any stroker kits available or does anyone know of any mob that is building these things -- not interested in the fuel injection etc but wish to build a nat aspirated Cheers

IIRC it was based on the genIII but the block is longer to get the bore spacing, hence the crank and heads are unique too. |

You can buy genuine GM retro ZL-1 blocks now. These are a replica 1967/8 alloy 427 as fitted to Bob Jane's two ZL-1 Camaros. One of these fitted with alloy heads may be a better prospect. Will fit straight into a HQ-WB using normal big block stuff. |

Search on the US websites. Summit may be a good place to start. Even the genuine US GM site. Look in google. |
