Hi All

Just lookking for some advice as to which of these grades of oil is better for a HQ 202 red motor.

I am currently using a semi synthetic 15w40 and on the weekend I drove 760 km in 30 degree heat at an average speed of 110 km/h

My car used about 200ml of oil which I know is not huge, but I am just trying to get opinion as to weather this represents slight consumption due to mechanical defect orig the consumption is due more likely to be due to a modern oil being a little thin for this type of operating condition.
Any opinions or experiences of similar would be greatly appreciated.
(Engine has only covered 13,000km since full rebuild )

I always use 20/50 XLD valvoline with no problems. my 253 HQ motor has done around 220,000 since a full rebiuld back in 1992 and the rocker covers are still quite clean on the inside (not full of sludge).
15/40 is about what is recomended for later model

I would only be using a quality 20/50, I know oils have improved over the years but.....
