Hi everyone are these heads ok to run as a weekend driver are they sluggish and do they spit , cough and splatter as i have been told and do they need to be pushed off the mark to get moving can someone please please give me the answer or the truth if you have had experience with these type of heads , what engine build combo is best suited without going overboard. thanks

They are as bad as people say. They only turn into turds when you use a camshaft not designed for 4V's. IE a camshaft designed for 2V heads. A moderate camshaft with 214@50 duration with low 500's lift would work well.

Hi my brother has an XD 351 and has 4v heads it runs quite well. He is changing diff ratio at the moment. I'm sure he got the heads them Hallam Heads they should be able to give you the right and professinal advice. I never hear him complain about been

Hey, I have a set of heads that look like 4v close chamber heads but i cant find any casting numbers to go off, If anyone know what the casting numbers are id be really interested.

hey steve reason people think they are sluggish is due to low compression on a stock bottom end. best use for these is with lumpy pistons. thus you get acceptable compression plus better flame travel/quench. obviously the exhaust can flow due to much

i just went and got a set of 4v closed chambers and im wanting 2 bolt them to a stock but tite 351 block any advice im runing 98oct and lpg thrue a 650 spred bore hol

MPG has port plates to help they usualy dont take off till 2000rpm suggest port plates or3.50/3.70 rear gear and dont forget your not driving a grocery getter.mpg has aluminum heads now and edelbrock but you dont have those now.
