need some info on how to determine the difference between a 351 and a 302 cleveland just by looking at it, and also determining what heads are on it, seller does not know, and i can only view photos via computer, thanks regards adam

is the engine still in the original car? If not, you need to measure the stroke with a piece of wire down the spark plug hole.

thanks paul, no the engine is out of car, so the blocks are the same d block - square block, h block etc, but stroke is different ?, can you help with the length,
can the heads be determined 2v 4v etc without dismantling, cheers adam

Adam,
3" for 302 3.5" for 351.
4V heads have a much larger exhaust port than the 2V heads.
4V is pretty rare, and with the octane in todays fuel you would be better off with the 2Vs for street use.
