I have a 1968 HD Premier with just 88,000 kms on the dial. Only 2 owners (my grandfather & I) but it has been idle and off the road for 15 years. She is in pretty good shape but I'd love to get the 'girl' going again and then slowly work on restoring her over time - as the wallet allows.

Is there anyone who is interested in helping me or who can recommend a reliable mechanic to come to my place and begin the initial work to at least get the car running again and mobile. I live in Aspley on the northside of Brisbane.

Regards

Scott

they are fairly easy to work on over all, if you've got the manual (the original one) then see what you can do yourself. THen you do it at the quality you want also :)

Hi Scott, I have the original GMH workshop manual that I'm happy to sell you (as I've sold my HD). Please email hz308prem AT bigpond DOT come to discuss further. You can pm me through here too.

Cheers

Wouldnt a 68 be HR not HD ??? HD was 65-66 !! I think.

Also 179-186 easy to work on too. Just climb inside. Great cars HD-HR.

Yep. You are right. 68 was my year. My HD is an August 1965 build.
