hey guys just thought id ask the question.
looking at buying an xa fairlane coupe,fully origional, with the standard 351, elec windows,mirrors, ect got about 91000 kms. white with black vynle roof.
owner just passed away and was the orig owner.
aparently it is straight as with no rust. (havnt seen it yet)
wants $10,000.
what do you guys think

Andrew, do you mean "Landau" coupe? 10 grand sounds about right. If the car is rust free and low milage it's probably worth a bit more. Which State is the car in and is it away from the coast a bit?

its an inland car so rust should be ok.
if it doesnt work out i am after an xa,xb or xc coupe if any one knows of any. im in canberra. not looking for a rust bucket, would prefer body work allready d

Andrew, they never made a fairlane coupe here. If it has a fairlane front end it isnt factory. If you are wanting an XA to XC coupe without rust issues of some kind.....um ....mate you are out of luck. Maybe a Delorean?

yea if i had a Delorean id go back in time and pick up all the gt's ford and old monaros and stash them for retirment.
WHATS THE GO, $400,000 FOR A FALCON?

so i gather any xa two door fairlane made would be a landau?
and if it was a falcon it would be a coupe right?
any help would be great

hey andrew, i believe that a two door fairlane would be a landau, which is based on the falcon coupe body shell - but with all the luxury options, and different round the side windows. But i wasnt aware of xa vintage ladau, i thought they were all xb?

Yes, Landaus were around during the XA era. Ford Aus tried to convince CAMS that the landau was the same as an XA GT so that enough coupes were made with the 4 wheel disc brakes to be eligable for bathurst. They didn't get away with that one. Landau is
