hey i'm restoring a HT monaro and noticed that the front chassis rails are rusted towards the rear ends of them-behind the front wheels....has anyone ever repaired one of these or bought a replacement from rare spares and fitted it? just wondering how much work is involved (probably a stupid question-tell me anything that isn't HEAPS of work in a resto!)

unfortunately fixing that rust WILL be heaps of work. if you look hard enough you might be lucky enough to find a complete rust free replacement in another vehicle (any body style, they are all the same). i recently gave away a complete HT with perfect ra

I guess I got ripped then. The only set I could find that were rust free were $180 dollars - but it was twin headlight, so it took more work, once the wiring was done. I've been unfortunate to change rails on a couple of cars & it's a pain in the butt. Ma

thanks guys.....didn't need to know it woz gonna be that much work though!! hehe think most of the chassis rail is ok its mainly just the lower section that's gone....i can hopefully replace this bit with a rare spares section... cheers
