Just want to ask, Was the HZ GTS a Monaro or not. I heard it was to be a Monaro GTS,but they dropped the Monaro badge. Monaro was a 2 door and the 4 door was Monaro GTS. So any help would be good... Thank you............. Jamie

"Technically" it's not a Monaro.

It was simply called the HZ GTS.
It did not have Monaro badges either.

It is commonly accepted as a Monaro and you will find owners of HZ GTS's in every Australian Monaro Club.

Almost everybody accepts them as Monaros. IIRC somewhere in Holden literature they are actually called a Monaro, and they are 'plated' as what was a Monaro in earlier models ie H_8WQ69 on their BODY plates. I suppose in a way this makes them more 'Monaro'

In the Hz parts and picture books it shows it as a monnaro, they must of changed it after printing.

Like the LE coupe, the HZ GTS 4-door did not wear a Monaro badge, but the brochure produced for it certainly did, and it was officially designated a 'Monaro GTS sedan'. Holden was unwilling to let the legend lapse
