At one time polished timber gear knobs were the height of class but with the advent of plastics and funky metal styling that seems to have gone by the board.

whats the go, are the in or out.

Being a HDT fanatic I tend to like the Huon Pine gearknobs used on the VC & VH era cars, but on anything newer a leather momo like the VL Group A is more suitable.

they were more of a 60`s -70`s thing and tend to suit those cars some upmarket cars used them into the eighties. I think the lastest type aftermarket ones do not suit old cars.

always keep a theme throughout a car eg. new calais wooden gearknob dash trim etc. cars are expressions of ones self n style, do what u want. another persons opinion is being fake!

I will certainly be whizzing up a few wooden knobs for my own vehicles, I was contemplating banging out a few and posting them up in the for sale and other places.

make your own gear knob- use a lathe and turn one out youself. drill a hole in the bottom just smaller than the thread on the lever then sand and varnish it. When dry, put it on the lever. COOL! Im making one now. i drilled out a recess to put a shiny dol
