Hey everyone i have a vr 1994 acclaim v6 3.8i which has a blown motor and i'm trying to find out what options i have for an engine conversion, is it possible to put something of an earlyier model in or even the 5lt. I'm hoping to not go to much effort such as major fabricating and things, is there anything that bolts in relatively easily.

I have hardly any knowledge of holdens as i have just acquired this car, but i am handy mechanically i have done an engine convertion from a 1996 wrx 2.0t EJ20G to a 1986 subaru rx turbo, and i know its blasphemy mentioning other cars sorry but just letting you guys know.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys.

The easiest fix is another VR V6 engine, the next easiest would be a complete 5 L V8 engine & gearbox etc.out of another VR. Any other model's gear would need extra work in the wiring harness area. Later engine computers will need reprogrammin
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

thanks for that, extra wiring/computers isn't to much of a problem.
Will all the later model engines fit eg. engine mounts, gearbox mounts, gearstick linkages or will that require X-member mods etc.
