If it was a column shift, there would have been a crossover linkage to shift the selector on the passenger's side of the box. Hi Byron
The car is a column shift and it has a bracket bolted to the chassis just behind the steering box which supports a link which runs parallel to the gearbox for about 12" the runs across the gearbox to the passenger side.

Sounds like a V8 to me. Can't be 100% sure, but given the evidence better than 80% or more. |
