If it was a column shift, there would have been a crossover linkage to shift the selector on the passenger's side of the box. The linkages are different for the 6cyl and V8 boxes, and 'crossover' in very different spots. IIRC the V8 is back towards the re Edited by user Wednesday, 11 October 2006 7:07:47 PM(UTC)

Hi Byron
The car is a column shift and it has a bracket bolted to the chassis just behind the steering box which supports a link which runs parallel to the gearbox for about 12" the runs across the gearbox to the passenger side.

Sounds like a V8 to me. Can't be 100% sure, but given the evidence better than 80% or more. |
