Ok guys and gals Iv been mulling this over with a mate of mine and we kind of want to go and have a crack at the salt lake. While he is working on an LH torana six cylinder Im keen on a V8 VK commodore but....and here is the cruncher....If I was to do it I would like to crack the 200mph mark. Now I would like to do this with a 308 ( sure a big chev would be easy but..) so here is the questions that I would like to throw out there to see what responses I get. What would you do to a Holden 308 to push a VK to 200 mph+ ? and what gearbox and diff set up would you run behind it? Now I beleive you have 1k run up and then 1k to reach your top speed before turning around and doing the same on your return run. So let the ideas flow from mild to wild........

When the green flag drops the bulls@#t stops!!

200mph = 320kph (approx) which is pretty hairy!

I'm not sure I'd like to be in a VK at that speed - look at the computer designed & extensively tested aero aids used on V8 Supercars, and even some of those bcome unstable at 290-300km/h on Conrod.

Th
Cheers,

Didn't the VL Walkinshaw Group A's run into a "wall" at about 270 kph and refused to go faster? I remember Allan Grice complaining about it during the 88(?) Bathurst race.

The trouble, as Mick alluded to, is going to be the aerodynamics of a VK aren't
