Guys,I'm about to fit a 650 double pumper to my mild 308. Can someone give me an idea of good primary and secondary size jets to start with currently has 62 Pri. and 68 Sec. fitted?

That's a lot of carby for a mild 308. What sort of use will the engine see? A double pumper uses a lot more fuel that a vacuum secondary style carby. You will probably want to go prety small in jet size. Have a look at a Holley tuning site.

Its good to see such good advice on carbys on this site. When we ran 200 hp N2O through our 308 at the drags. It had a 650 D/P on it.125mph at 7000 rpm It ran slower with a 750 D/P on it.As Byron says dont over carby you engine

Maybe so Guys, but I'm in a relatively small town and there are 3 other 308's in town running 650 double pumpers(2 WB's and a Torana) and besides that when I was after info on setting up my 600 Vac. Sec. two others had similar problems to me up until they

Cheap Holleys are bastard carbies, and the 600 squarebore is one of them. A 650DP is an expensive carby and will work well but will be dreadful on fuel. A Quadrajet is your answer, but not easy to tune yourself as compared to a Holley.

Best thing I ever did was piss off a 650 DP Holley and fit a Quadrajet to a worked 308.

Car went heaps harder and used a lot less fuel.

Good advise

sorry kent what is the list number on your 650. Qute did you like that site. I thought I had a bit of imfo on carbys but he must have had lots of time on his hands

Hi guys
Ive got a 253 going into a torana just been rebuilt with mild cam and performer manifold. It is going to be my daily driver and I was thinking 465 but looking at Byron's figures this may be too large, main aim is driveability and fuel ecconomy

A Quadrajet will work well. Get a blue or black motor one as they have adjustible primary metering rods.

puting it back to std is the best place to start. It comes std with 122-60 prime jets 8.5 power valve and .025 pump squirter.The sec,s were 122-83 with .037 pump squirter its holleys replacement carb for the chev 1966 to 70. 327 to 402 cu inch engine.I ha

I put a new (rebuilt), 650 D/P spreadbore on my mild 308 V8 Gemi Took a while to sort it to a fair condition. Did it's best work up high in the last 1000 revs of the power band. Would pass anything on the road except a petrol station.
