i AM LOOKING AT BUYING AN OLD 350 CHEV 010 SHORT MOTOR TO DO UP, WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A 2 BOLT AND A 4 BOLT ?? (2 BOLTS YEA I KNOW ) DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET THE CORRECT INFORMATION ON THE BEST OPTIONS TO REBUILD AND DO IT UP, IE CRANKS AND CAM TYPES, MAX. BORE ETC
AS YOU CAN SEE I'M A NOVICE WITH CHEVS,

If it's an 010 block, then it should be a 4 bolt main. Chev blocks are fairly hardy tho and unless your planning on squeezing a lot of rpm and HP out, then 2 bolt blocks with cast cranks are fine. What do you want to build it up to suit?? Street? What

yeh im thinking of putting it in a hz but im not sure yet, but probably a turbo 400 ?? i want it registered and i also want run it at the drags, to start with anyway. i dont want to go too overboard with the rebuild, but i want it to be grunty

Not all 010 blocks are 4 bolt.
Four bolt is a bit of over kill for a street car but if you intend to rev the day lights out of it or race then go the four bolt.
Carefull fitting it to a HZ. You will probally have to run straight gas to meet EPA. The

SO IF A HZ MAY BE A BIT OF A PROBLEM TO REG, WHAT ELSE COULD I PUT THIS 350 INTO THAT WOULD MAKE IT ALL A BIT EASIER. AND STRAIGHT FORWARD
