The is an easy way to tell if it is a single rail gearbox as a it looks like a top loader except there are no gear linkages on the side and the shifter is part of the gearbox but becareful as the shifter screws in to the top by a nylon screw and they are

I get the impression that Capricrazy already knows that he has a single rail but wants to know whether it came from a 6, a 302 or a 351. I can't help you with the numbers but have been told that the 6 & 302 box are virtually the same & the 351 box h Edited by user Thursday, 7 December 2006 2:33:41 AM(UTC)

I have a borg warner 5 spd with teeth missing from the reverse gear. i was wondering weather it is possible to swap the gear from the 4 speed box with the identicle casing
