i have recently purchased a hj panel van with a 350 chev on duel fuel. it has been sitting in the sellers garage for a couple of years and i was wondering if there is any pre-cautions i should take before cranking it over? should i change the engine oil, trans oil and rad fluid before i give it a bit of a run?
Also, it needs a new starter motor and ignition barrel hooked up, my question is how hard is it to replace myself, how do i it (what tools do i need) and how long will it take?
Sorry for all the questions guys but i really need some answers
cheers
tom

Before you crank it over, take the heads off & check the combustion chambers & the cylinders. I would replace the oil, coil, leads, spark plugs, thermostat etc...

I'd check everything like plugs etc.
Change the oil and filter.
Drain the radiator flush the cooling system and put a new thermostat in.
Taking the heads off is a very cautious thing to do. Not silly by any means, but time consuming and maybe not neces
