Picked up a second hand Harrop dual plane manifold so I thought I'd dummy fit it to the VN heads on an old 308 block to see how everything lined up. For those considering a similar build here's a couple of things I found. The bottom half of the throttle arm on the Quady hits the number four intake runner on the manifold. So I tried a Holley and the same thing happened here to. So I grabbed a half inch spacer and the Quady just clears. Don't know if the Redline or Torque Power manifolds have this problem. I didn't really want to use a spacer as I wanted to keep the plennum volume as small as possible. Looks like I'll have to go with a 4 hole insulator, hopefully the extra cubes of the stroker will make up for it. Also dropped in a points dizzy off a red motor and it fit ok but the large cap on the factory electronic from a blue motor wouldn't even come close to clearing the number 7 intake runner on the manifold so it looks like I'll have to track down a small cap for the electronic. Anyone know where I can get one?

Use the points cap, with an XD/E Cleveland rotor button.

You'll also have to use odd leads. Use the points style leads for the plugs, and also a plug lead for the coil. You'll understand when you try.

Hi Guys.

If you want to use Blue motor V8 leads & a small cap, then use a VN to VS V8 cap. If you use the old points type cap, then use HT to HZ leads.

Dr Terry.
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
