Hi, The air conditioner on my Calais is playing up in that the air does not come out of the dash vents all the time. It seems to be intermittent and sometimes comes out of the dash vents and sometimes seems to be contained under the dash...any ideas please? Frank.

Hi FrankZ.
The vent control flaps in VTs are vacuum operated, so you probably have either a vacuum hose leak, a faulty one-way valve or a faulty solenoid set. It might pay to get somebody who is more familiar with these to have a look.

In the Calais they have climate control AC and the computer diverts air between the centre vents and the windscreen if left on auto, this is likely to be the problem, well its not a problem as this is how the unit is designed.
try selecting face evnts

Warren, Bingo. This is the (problem?). Pushing the Auto on / off gives the option of having the air come out of the vents or screen. Never considered this. I am happy again. Now I just need to get the air conditioner gassed up so it is cold again. T
