ENGINE NUMBERS Located stamped on a pad at the front of the right hand cylinder bank. The prefixes for the HG GTS 350 Monaro automatic is '350A' and the manual '350M'. The engine serial number follows. edit; 350A. -----------------------------

The engine number is for a 308 out of a HJ Statesman. If it is a SBC block it's been restamped, as it's too late of a number to be a HQ 350 block which started with 11QU. Otherwise it's a 308 turbo pattern block. What is the casting number off the block? |

Interesting that someone would stamp a 308 Statesman engine number onto a chev engine, might be trying to fit it to a Statesman without letting the registry know, or trying to hide a stolen engine.
Never seen a 327A engine, that is a good one.
