hi, just wondering what the correct size primery metering rods and jets for a standard 308 manual are. the 2 workshop manuals i have say that the 350 jets are smaller then the 308 it that correct.

the jets in my 1984 Q-jet manual are 71 and the rods are 51c,(stock 308)
the jets in my 1976 Q-jet auto are 68 and the rods are 48c,(stock 308)
from what Ive gathered the rods are about 20 thou smaller than the jets most times.

thanks for the reply, my current setup is 77 jets and 45b rods, runs very rich. is the larger the rod the leaner the mix. my old 30 year old quad has 74 jets and 50b rods and it runs better then the rebuilt carb I got from humes performance. Do you know t

Yes your current set up is very rich, that camaro set up I was telling you about is similar to yours and they said it is enough fuel for about 400 hp, you must feel the fuel bill! I really like your other set up, its axactly what Im chasing (about 74,75,o

I put in the other jets and rods, much better on fuel and runs great. the only problem now is when I back off down a hill the engine starts to back fire through the exhaust. I have adjusted the rods up down and in between, runs best when screw is wound in
