i have a 186 in a hq prem,iv fitted vdo temp gauge that reads in celsius ,what temperature should it be running at.the gauge reading is 40,50,60,70,80,90,100 and 120.i have been told that it should be about 86c.and has there been any trouble with powermax water pumps that auto barn sell because since i changed the pump ,it seems to be getting a bit hotter then before and the motor was rebuilt a few months ago.

When the motor was built did it get any goodies thrown in that might cause an increase?

For almost any street motor, 80 to 90 degrees C is the perfect temperature.

what thermostat have you in there? from memory, should be about 86D
yeah I reckon if it goes up to 90 or 92 on accasions that still sounds about right to me, you may have a few tubes blocked in the radiator. If you get the radiator cleaned, its a good id

Max, I got it from my local radiator repair shop, I think their natrad, any way if they havent got one ask if they can order one in.
