Hi all,

just after some clarification please...

I am looking at upgrading the headlights on the hj tonner (HQ GTS frontend) and am considering semi-sealed lights.

The ones I'm looking at are clear 7" H4 bulb jobs (may aswell since I'm rewiring the dodgy job that's in there now and adding relays, modern style switch etc).

Measuring the stock items in there now they seem to be 6".
Am I measuring these correctly?

When you look at mag widths you have to measure at certain points, speakers also use measurements within the O.D., TV's use diagonals etc - I just want to confirm whether the 7" lights ARE or AREN'T compatible?

Thanks in advance
void

Yep 7" is the standard size for single round headlights.

Thanks Pete,

See, that's exactly why I asked - the lights dia's measure just under 6" but they are 7" lights!? Why not just round em up to 10"?

I just wasn't sure if the single light front ends had bigger lights and the twin (like I have) light fro

Hi Mr Void.

The normal single head light beams measure 7", but dual headlights are 5 3/4".

I am a little confused, one minute you say you have an HQ GTS front end (which have 7" single beams) & in the next breath you say 'twin, just like I have'.
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

You're confused!!??

Thanks for reply Dr Terry, because the ute had GTS guards I just got used to saying GTS frontend (which is what the previous owner called it too).
Since 74HJLS replied I have done a little searching on the net and now realise it's

Take a look at this;

It is the same as mine and this guy's calling it a HQ GTS!? That's part of why I get mixed up, so

Hi Mr Void,

All your lights need to be indvidually earthed. Seems the book has a mistake in it...

Cheers...Dave

Thanks Dave,

I found it odd that the diagram showed rear lights wired in parallel with individual earths whereas the fronts run in series with only one earth for both high and low beam and across the 4 of them?

cheers
