hi all, can anyone tell me if an trimatic bell housing cover will fit onto an aussie 4 speed bell housing. cheers

Yes, but with two qualifications:
4cyl, 6cyl and V8 all different so for a V8 4-speed you need a V8 trimatic one.
The starter motors mounting changed some time around 1978 so the cover changed slightly to allow for the slightly different starter pos |

thanks for that but it doesn't fit.the car it's going on is 74 hj v8 4 speed and the bell housing cover came from a 79 hz v8 auto. but have collected one froma wrecker anyway. catch ya later

Just read what I wrote, and you'll see why it doesn't fit properly. Plus a HZ 308 auto one won't fit if that is the problem.
