hi all, can anyone tell me if an trimatic bell housing cover will fit onto an aussie 4 speed bell housing. cheers

Yes, but with two qualifications:

4cyl, 6cyl and V8 all different so for a V8 4-speed you need a V8 trimatic one.

The starter motors mounting changed some time around 1978 so the cover changed slightly to allow for the slightly different starter pos

thanks for that but it doesn't fit.the car it's going on is 74 hj v8 4 speed and the bell housing cover came from a 79 hz v8 auto. but have collected one froma wrecker anyway.

Just read what I wrote, and you'll see why it doesn't fit properly. Plus a HZ 308 auto one won't fit if that is the problem.
