Anyone know of a good car float for sale?
Been looking at new ones, and they seem to be about $4,500 for a 2000kg GVW unit with 45mm axles and facility to fit electric brakes and breakaway and uprate to a higher GVW later.
Also looked at a Carousel brand trailer today. Anyone towed one of these before? It's about 1988 vintage with rocker springs (load sharing), full floor and electic brakes. Only has 40mm axles though. Looks to be a pretty good trailer though, and as it has 250mm high sides it can double as a big box trailer. Not sure about the rocker springs as they seem to really load up the towball as compared to twin axle slipper springs.

I expect they do car trailers also.....it wouldn't be the cheapest on the market but the quality is tops.

I have a car trailer without springs. It does not put much vertical load on the towball at all. When empty I just let the tyres down to about 10 psi & it tows fine.

Iv'e fitted Carousel branded towbars & they were cheap to buy but not nasty in qu

I think (from asking around since I made this post) the trailers were made for them by others.

Take notice of the length of the drawbar. Longer drawbars tow better and are easier to reverse.
The last one I got with a race car I bought only had a short drawbar on it(1Mt) and it towed like a pig. I cut it out and made a new one 4 mts long, 2mts unde
