Couple of questions for people who know more than me ... so most of you i'd reckon!

I'm looking to convert my HQ ute from a manual into an auto .. so the missus can drive it. I'll be getting my mechanic to do it but how easy is it to do? What are the types of auto i should be thinking about? Where could i pick one up and how much am i looking at?

Any advice would be great!

Cheers

OK I have recently listed all the stuff for a fellow converting a HQ V8 to auto.

You will need:

Brake pedal is larger.
T bar shifter will bolt on the hole in the floor, if located correctly. Make sure you get the lever on the side of the box.

you'll probably have to change the driven gear on the speedo cable as the V8 trimatics generally have a different tooth count on the drive gear.

My recommendation would be a VK or VL 5litre trimatic. You'll need a T-bar out of a HQ-HZ with TH400 to ope
