Couple of questions for people who know more than me ... so most of you i'd reckon!
I'm looking to convert my HQ ute from a manual into an auto .. so the missus can drive it. I'll be getting my mechanic to do it but how easy is it to do? What are the types of auto i should be thinking about? Where could i pick one up and how much am i looking at?
Any advice would be great!
Cheers

you'll probably have to change the driven gear on the speedo cable as the V8 trimatics generally have a different tooth count on the drive gear.
My recommendation would be a VK or VL 5litre trimatic. You'll need a T-bar out of a HQ-HZ with TH400 to ope |

apart from shifter and console insert, the rst should be around $50 or less from most wreckers if you get it yourself. Shifters usually sell for around $50 but do not include the wiring, so $75 would not be unrealistic. Console insert $20 - 50.
