I've seen a couple of HQ GTS4's advertised recently as original colour 'Orchid Metallic' and they both claimed that there was only ever 8 or 10 HQ GTS's painted that colour. Does anyone know if that is true? Both had a black interior.

I have a HQ GTS4 original Orchid Metalic but my interior is a very light cream colour with black dash and carpet.

. . . . so is Orchid metallic a rare colour for HQ GTS's?

I believe it was only available on the 73 and 74 HQ range, I would say more than 8 or 10. People come up with some weird numbers to try and make their car rarer, so dearer when they want to sell. The word rare gets used a bit too much and not in true cont

I emailed the person who advertised his car there and he said he gave the dealer the paint code and from this the dealer told him the number.

Unfortunately GM-H does not use paint numbers but combination numbers, so unless the dealer had the records of

I've heard similar stories about '73 Bathurst XU-1's (150 made) in Orchid. One bloke told me that my mate's car couldn't have been one of the 150 because there were only 4 x made and he knew where all of them where. Well guess what? His is Orchid and is t

Wherever there is a dollar to be made, stories of super-rare items abound.

It happens on a regular basis amongst HDT cars.

On ebay, a seller with a VK wagon claimed it was one of only 3 ever made. It's funny that I have picture records of 11 of the

Giving this only 8 built a little more thought.

If you think about it that would be an average of one per state or territory. So they would more likely be in the capital cities, so one for Hobart, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin, Perth an

Of the 600 Series 200, I have seen at least 6 unique ones in the last few years, and 3 in the last week!

Holden built 1988 VL Calais wagons (200 made) are also relatively rare, and in the last year I would have seen less than 3 on the road (a lot more
