Engine is in the Overlander, but only as a carbied example at the moment - using a Redline Hi-winder and HEI dizzy with 600 vacuum 2ndary Holley. Looks fantastic though!
Funny thing is it is bloody loud! The original red 308 was nice and quiet, and all I did was put the engine in with standard VR cast iron manifolds, and had the original pipes chopped back about 300mm and new ends and flanges put on to suit. Must be something to do with the heads and Redline manifold. It's a 2" into 2 1/2 with single muffler.
I also put a new torque converter in. Engine is a bit doughey down low but I expected that with the Redline manifold and big port VN heads. Initial advance is set at 14deg for LPG and is not regraphed so I expect it not to be perfect just yet.

Now, as i'm about to embark on a 3 year Contract, working long hours I probably don't have a lot of time to play with it - what hours I do have spare are better spent on my HK's, so I really need something that I can drive and forget. Plus if it's parked in the shed it will take up HK room. So I'm toying with sticking the old girl on Ebay after I clean it up a bit. So if anyone here is possibly interested in one of the rarest Holdens you'll ever find (1 of 3 Overlander 1-tonners, 1 of 125 total Overlanders, plus a factory 308, TH400, 3.36 diff 1-tonner to boot) let me know soon. I'll probably stick it on there for about $10k with a basically complete spare HX 1-tonner (good cab, premier front, factory air) for spares, and including the original red 308 that just came out of it. For the right $ all the EFI stuff for the engine goes with it too.
