I am running a 202 red in my HD it runs great no noises oil temp is normal, she starts first time every time in the morning, on start up the oil pressue sits at 30 however after I've been driving for a while the oil pressure slowly drops of to around 10 when Im sitting at the lights, if i bring the revs up slightly and hold them up the presure comes back up. The engine was rebuilt not so long ago. ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS???? |

Electric or "manual" oil pressure gauge?
To have the oil pressure drop off when hot is not unusual. It gets thinner, so moves around the engine better.
There was another discussion earlier on on the forum around oil pressure, check that one out.

According to the factory manuals it is not unusual or harmful to have pressure drop to as low as 3 or 4 psi while idling at around 500-800 rpm, but it should pick up when revving faster.
