hi guys. progress has currently stopped on my xp as i've finally realised that it has absolutely no tags or compliance plates etc that i can find. is there any way at all that i can still get the car passed through rego? whats needed and how? there is a number stamped near the radiator but i have no idea what that is. thank you for all your help.

Hi Cam,

The XP will have no Compliance Tags as it is too old to have them. They didn't start until 1970.

Whilst I'm no expert on Fords, I think the number near the radiator will be your body number (I know it was on one of the front shock towers in

cheers dave. is there any way to find out if the car is maybe stolen though? i've been meaning to ring the rta but with work, public holidays etc i haven't yet got round to it. i couldn't do a revs check as i had no numbers. thanks again.

I think you will find that revs will only let you know if car is under finance.

You can ring the police and they will tell you if the vehicle has been stolen. I have done it in the past, though whether they will still tell you now days is anybodies guess.

I have phoned the SA dept of Motor Transport and they were nice enough to let me read out my rather long list of engine numbers and thankfully none of them came up as stolen.

They also told me that there are no records of early vehicles like mine (70's
