Guys

Does anyone here understand how these are modelled? Been looking at a few and I can't make sense of where and when model changes occur. 2003 VYII examples don't have the same headlights as a VYII (no little park light), and everyone including Redbook refer to 2004 models as VZ (VYII). I can't see any specification differences, but at some stage the engine covers seem to change - possibly when VZ was released in late 2004? Redbook list a VYII (2003), VYII (2004), VZ (VYII) (8/2004) and a VZ (2005), yet all four are reported as a release date of 10/2003. Other specs change slightly along the way (like weight, fuel economy, power etc). The VZ (VYII) version listed under Aug 2004 is listed alongside VZ examples of all the other Crewman models and seems to share the same 235kW engine.
Was the Cross8 left as a VYII spec but shared VZ mechanicals like the current VZ ute/wagon does with the VE?

Been researching after I wrote this.
Looks like the VZ Cross 8 was released on 3/2/2005 so the VYII must have continued through the VZ model release in August 2004. So now what I'm wondering is does the 8/2004 onwards VYII Cross8 get the VZ model's upgra
