Anyone out there reckon they could make a gts bonnet from a standard bonnet ?

If you could supply a good panel beater with the raised sections that contain the flutes out of a HT/G GTS bonnet they could weld them into a HT or HG non GTS bonnet to create either a HT or HG GTS bonnet. Even then I still wouldn't paint it black as it w

Often asked the same thing but no-one does the weld in patches (please someone prove me wrong!). No idea where else you'd get the scoops but from an original GTS bonnet - good luck with that. I'm surprised no one does it because there'd be a big market, l

I have the sheetmetal pieces I cut out of a very rusty HG GTS bonnet that had been left standing in dirt and rusted away for the bottom 6 inches or so. Basically cut from front to back, about 350mm wide with the scoops in the middle. Would be perfect for

won a gts bonnet on ebay over east but cost to much to send here
so he cut the vents out for me and posted them

Comments from some people at GMH indicate that there was more metal in the GTS bonnets than standard to allow for the vents. If you just press out of a standard one the metal may stretch and tear. If you press new vent panels out and then weld them into a

if you get a experanced welder he/she will be able to weld them with minamall distortion with a tig welder uesing a back step or intermitant or pulse procsses the reason you cannot find some 1 who will do it is because it is a verry time consumeing job an
