Hey there, I have a c4 behind a 289 in a 65 mustang, recently had the box removed to fix a leaking pump gasket. Whilst it was out they replaced a band as they said it was about to start slipping. Otherwise they said the box looked pretty good internally.
Got it back a few days before chrissy and now when it's cold it won't shift into third. Doesn't slip or carry on just hangs in second until it warms up. Once the car is warm shifting is no problem, does everything it should, but cold start now joy. Didn't do this before.
I'm expecting the band just needs adjusting, any ideas on this one??
Cheers

This is going to sound silly but is the oil level in the box OK?

yeah the fluid levels are all ok, I'd be surprised if the seals were gone, the auto was pretty good previously and as I said it all looked ok internally.

Mate, take it back to the guys who did the work on it. I had this happen on my FMX once, was a vacume issue but I don't think the C4 works the same. Might be the band as you say.
