G'day, I've just got myself a genuine LJ GTR Torana and will be bringing it back to Hot & Steamy Broome WA and I have seen a couple of cars on the net with after market air conditioning sytems mounted under the passengers glove box, I have found out that they are AWA Premier systems. Does any body out there have any information on these unit's or know of one for sale, willing to pay.

You could have a look at these guys. They sell new units. I was thinking of removing my factory air con and installing one of these to tidy the engine bay up. http://stores.ebay.com.a...ING-AND-COOLING-SUPPLIES

Hey Benno,
I've installed one of these in my LH Torana, (except it's a Sanden unit), and I'm in the last stages of installing one into my HQ ute, and it's an AirMaster or something. [If you're reading this, Dave, yep, almost done after a year!!!]

The only problem with fitting the HQ to VH under alternator bracket is that in the Toranan you mught have the same problem that early Holden owners have with not enough room between engine and subfram.
I would look out for a VB Commodore accessory air

The high-mount setup (RH side) was used on all VH 2.85, and all VK 3.3L blue & black 6s.
Only prob is there are some extra bolt bosses in the later blue heads (and blacks) that early blues & reds don't have, so you may need to work something out.

Hi Guys.
Now you're on my pet subject, I've been installing & repairing car a/cond for over 30 years.
What Jason has said will work well on LH to UC Torana 6 cyls, but not on LC/LJ 6. The main problem is chassis clearance as explained by Warren & t |

No worries Benno, and thanks to Dr Terry for the corrections.
One thing I just remembered... when I did the LH, I had the compressor tested by a cooling specialist before I put it on. Tested fine. However, I found out when I fitted it later, that it

I have seen units that bolt to the top driver's side and they are for red motors, but rare. As Dr terry said clearance is a major problem in the early holdens, the one we fitted to an FC red was mounted top right.
