have HK 307 with overheating problem. temp is fine when driving but overheats when idling for a few minutes. have engine driven fan, have put in reco 4 core radiator, new water pump, therostat & radiator hoses, flushed motor, installed over flow bottle. any ideas ?

Is it physically getting hot or just recording it as hot? A friend of mine had problems with his centura many years ago. Did the same as you but it turned out to be a faulty temperature sender. He replaced that and had no further problems.

Do you have a strap from the -ve battery terminal to the body, not just to the engine?

car is definately getting extremely hot, has negative strap from battery to body. just put in 71 degree C thermostat, thermo fan & reset timing but still runing hot as.
