Hi guys,

As I have no knowledge on the subject I hope someone on here can help. I have a guy in the states asking for these crossflow heads. I need to know what engines they come from, what vehicles they were in and where (if at all) they can be found. A quick search revealed that there are other maybe similar drossflow heads such as the 221 and 250 but have no idea what the differences could be between all these heads.
Enlighten me!

Cheers

Didn't get that many 200 crossflows in the Falcons. They did come out in the last of the Cortinas. Pretty sure they were all 200 crossflows in the late Corty 6 cyls.
Why is the guy in the States wanting the 200 crossflow over the 250 crossflow?

Thanks for the reply Paul. I did a bit of a search and didnt come up with much at all. I really have no idea why he wants 200 heads specifically but am still waiting for his reply on this. What advantages do the 250 heads have over the 200? I really have

some people turbo the 200 for its rod/piston ratio, also you can use 200 rods in the 250 motor matched to acl's special made pisons to make for a strong reving crossflow.as for the heads im pretty sure there the same except for the fact that ford changed t

This is the reply I have got back from this guy in the states. If anyone can confirm what he says is true then this is what we are looking for.

"Those heads are only found on the Australian version of the Ford 200cu/in 3.3L straight six. A real easy wa

just going back through this post and it seems that this bloke like most people from the usa are simply talking about crossflow heads in general.there are australian only and the yanks only ever got the precrossflow motor.anyway the heads alone are no goo

Tuff 250, are you 100% sure about the heads not fitting? Weren't the XC cross flows the same blocks as the old XB in size? I know the water galleries were different. I've heard a few confliciting things about this issue over the years and I don't have

i have mesured them and tryed to change heads personaly and i am 100% positive a crossflow head (either cast iron or alloy) will not fit a pre crossflow motor.also have a look at the gaskets.

Tuff, I have noticed that you state that these heads will not fit the PRE CROSSFLOW blocks. I do not even know what series of engine these yanks are trying to put them on but maybe their not fitting them to pre crossflow blocks but later engines that just

OK I'm going to take a guess here as to why they are asking for a 3.3 crossflow head & not a 4.1 crossflow head. In the USA the 250 is a wider & taller block than a 200 (much the same way as a 351W is a different block to a 302W).
