i have a commodore (vr) that gets very hot no matter the temp outside. the temp goes over half way when its still, and smells hot when i stop the car. i have checked the obvious - oil, water fluids etc... what could be the problem? Also the yellow engine light (with the "!" inside) has started to stay on for a few seconds after the car has started then it goes out. HELP!!!!

Most likely, you have an airblock in your coolant system...

you have multiple "bleeders" around the engine... consult your manual on how to do a "coolant change" and refill the whole system with good coolant...

that will eliminate air locks and sho

many thanks to you all for your help ... im not mechanically minded - so your advice is appreciated. does anyone know of a "good" mechanic in the ACT?
