Hi guys, can someone tell me what the measurements for the red 186 were (bore, stroke, etc) I've just picked up my 186 and i can't tell whether it's been bored or not. It has no stampings on the piston and the cylinder wall is only around 5 mm thick.
I don't want to bore the cylinder yet in fear of making it **** itself because the cylinder wall is too thin. Am i able to bore anymore?
Any guidance in this area would be helpful.
Cheers

bore = 3.625 inch
stroke = 3.00 inch

Compression 9.2:1, open chamber head, adjustable rockers
You are able to bore a 186 60 thou to 192..however they do get hot.
Just go the next size up...it gives you room to bore again later if something happens.

Speaking of boring - any idea how far you can bore an aussie 308? I've heard conflicting reports from 80 to 120....

40 is about the max..no one will touch them otherwise.

Gem used to build all their 308's at +0.060. I've also seen them at 080, but wouldn't really consider that option.

I have had 308's at 60 as well..but people don't tend to buy them when they are 60.

same with 202 and 186...can goto 60 but they get hot and I had one stuff up on me last week when the water jacket rusted thru.

You can bore 308's +60 but if they are already at +60 then no-one wants them as they don't want to risk going to +80.

My 202 is bored out 60thou and I can vouch for the over heating, I've got thermo's new water pump radiator and she still gets hot, you just can't get the flow through the engine. If your thinking of going 60thou over I would consider other options.

Thanks for the advice. I've got an aussie 60+ 308 that I'm not sure what to do with - looks like I wont be boring it!
